The West Hills Regional Fire Department was established January 1, 2006 through the consolidation of the Brownstown Volunteer Fire Company and the Westmont Volunteer Fire Company. For three years a task force comprised of elected officials, borough residents, and members of the fire companies closely examined the requirements and laid the groundwork for the companies to merge. This regionalized fire department will be providing emergency services to the residents for Brownstown and Westmont Boroughs from two stations. The main station will be located at the Westmont Municipal Building and another station will be maintained in Brownstown Borough.
